AboutWho makes this, how, and who pays

An independent, new, research-based publication for people who live with cats and dogs in Canada.

DogsNCats.ca started in September 2026. It is an editorial site and a merchant directory. It is not a store, a marketplace, a veterinary resource or a training school.

What we do

We read merchant shipping and return policies, subscription terms and manufacturer documentation, record what they say with the date we read them, and write buying frameworks around the questions a buyer has to answer for themselves: where it can be delivered, what it costs delivered, what to measure, what to ask a provider, how much cash a subscription really takes.

We keep a small directory of Canadian merchants, manufacturer stores and provider marketplaces with their published coverage. A record is added when we have read a policy and can state what it says; merchants we have not reviewed are left out rather than listed with guesses.

What we have not done

• We have not tested any product, used any service, or vetted any individual provider.
• We do not give veterinary, nutrition, behaviour, training or financial advice. Food coverage is about purchasing logistics only.
• We have no relationship with any merchant. No merchant has approved, sponsored or paid this publication at the reviewed date.
• We publish no reviews, ratings, testimonials, sales figures or expert credentials, because we have none to publish.

Methodology

Sources

Primary documents only: the merchant’s or manufacturer’s own policy, FAQ or help page. Each guide lists its sources with a reviewed date; each directory record links the policy we read. Forum threads and news articles are treated as leads, never as facts.

Reviewed dates

The date beside a fact is the date we last read the source. Delivery areas, thresholds and subscription terms change; the merchant’s live page always governs.

Regional scope

A coverage statement means the merchant publishes delivery or service to that region. It is not a promise about a specific address; postal-code checks at checkout still apply. Unknown coverage is labelled unknown.

Tools

The cost worksheet does arithmetic on numbers you type. It contains no prices of ours and stores nothing.

Language

English only at launch. This does not establish French-language service or complete national coverage.

Financial incentives and disclosure

Our intended business model is transparent referral: if a merchant later approves an affiliate relationship, links to that merchant may earn a commission when a reader buys, at no extra cost to the reader. At the reviewed date (2026-09-19) no programme has been applied for or approved, and every merchant link on this site is an ordinary, unpaid link.

Our rules, in force now and after any approval:

• Inclusion in a guide or the directory never depends on whether a merchant pays. Records are added and kept on the basis of a readable policy and usefulness to Canadian owners.
• Commission rates are never mentioned in consumer guidance and never influence which option a guide describes first.
• When a link becomes an affiliate link it will be marked as such beside the link itself, not only in a policy page, and this page will list the programme as approved.
• We do not publish prices, coupons or “deals”, and we do not run price comparison.
• Sponsored placements, if ever introduced, will be labelled and kept visually separate from editorial selection.

Corrections

If a coverage statement, source or date is wrong, tell us through the contact page. Corrections are made in the affected records and guides together, and material ones are logged here with the date.

Ownership and contact

DogsNCats.ca is operated by its owner in Canada as a new, independent business. We publish no names, credentials or address here because none of those would add to the accuracy of the site; a verified contact route is on the contact page.
